Become an American Heart Association CPR instructor
The American Heart Association (AHA) offers several classes:
Heartsaver (HS): There are many varieties of Heartsaver with modules that can be tailored to fit the needs of your students. Heartsaver is designed for the lay public who are not working with patients in a healthcare environment.

Basic Life Support (BLS): This is CPR for the healthcare provider and the CPR certification that most professional medical organizations require. A BLS instructor can teach both BLS and HS.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): This course is for the advanced medical professional who will be utilizing first-line cardiac arrest emergency medications and advanced airway interventions.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS): This course is for the advanced medical professional who will be managing pediatric cardiac arrests and will be utilizing first-line cardiac arrest medications and advanced airway interventions in this specialty area.
The Process....
Complete the online course
Find an instructor who will perform your skills evaluation
Arrange to be monitored while teaching a class
You'll complete the online portion of the Instructor Essentials class on the AHA website. Once you have watched the required videos and have passed the test, you will be issued a Certificate of Completion of the online material.
Present your Instructor Essentials Certificate to an accepting Instructor to do your skills check-off. This is where you will demonstrate your competency in performing the CPR skills. For potential instructors aligning with Ardere Diem, we provide this service at no cost to you.
Next, you will arrange to align with a Training Center (TC) or a Training site (TS). This is required. This can be a challenge as some TC's or TS's may not accept "non-employee" instructors or siimply may not be accepting instructors. Ardere Diem accepts instructors regardless of employment or affiliation. You will arrange to teach a portion of a class to be monitored for your knowledge, lecture ability, and how you interact with students. Once you have successfully taught a class, the TC / TS may have additional requirements to finalize your instructor credentials.
